Bachelor of Arts at the Willem de Kooning Academy
I did it! After 4 years of studying at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam, I graduated with the Bachelor of Arts in Photography & Branding. During my graduation I worked on the topic of elderly loneliness as part of the city's identity.
Football is a living topic in Rotterdam. As a great part of the city's identity; it's celebrated, money is spent on it and tough guys start crying when their team loses the game. Unfortunately, elderly loneliness makes an equal part of Rotterdam. But where is the attention and the passion to fight it? This work builds a bridge between these components of the city. A dialogue between image and sound - football and loneliness, is asking for more awareness for this ongoing issue. Functioning as a campaign, this work is presenting issue and solution at the same time.

Nominated for the Drempelprijs
With my graduation project #dederdehelftmetopa I was nominated for the Drempelprijs 2019 in the category Commercial Practices. The Drempelprijs is an annual award for graduates of the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam in cooperation with the municipality. A professional jury is judging all nominated projects and is handing out a cheque to stimulate and help graduates to continue their professional practice.
